Imagine Girl Band Overview
When you start playing Imagine Girl Band, one of the first things you must do is customise your character. You will decide her name, hair colour, eye colour, and skin tone. Choose wisely as this character will stick with you throughout the game! You'll also need to decide on an instrument, and type of music. There are literally hundreds of combinations of outfits, make-up, jewellery and friends that can be combined to create your own unique band. This emphasis on dress-up is no bad thing as it ensures the gamer always has a reason to play another song.
The general idea of Imagine Girl Band is to perform in shows which earn money and build popularity, you can then play in bigger and better events, and use the money you have earned to buy new clothes and instruments. In order to perform in the shows you must complete a rhythm game. Basically the player has to tap the Nintendo DS console in time with the music. If they fail to complete the stage... it's back to the practice studio!
There are five stages of un-lockables. Each time you gain popularity, you will unlock three new songs, a new set of clothing for each style, and a new instrument for each style.

A music round can be played in a few minutes, but the decisions about friends, appearance and songs can take much longer for kids to make. The four person multiplayer performances also require more time to play.
The open ended nature of the game means that although players may get through the experience in eight or nine hours, there is plenty to keep them coming back for more long after that. It takes a considerable amount of time and investment to unlock all the outfits, band members and songs.
